The home of the future is a smart one, but it’s not always within reach of most Australians when the cost is usually quite high.

However, this doesn’t have to be the case with more cost-effective alternatives on the market that can transform your home into a smart one.

Australia’s home-grown electronics brand LASER offers a large range of smart home devices exclusively in Harvey Norman stores across the country.

The CONNECT SmartHome range has recently seen significant price reductions, offering smart light bulbs for $10, Wi-Fi power plugs for $18 and even an indoor security camera for $39.

All these smart devices are fully compatible with smart assistants from Google and Amazon with the ability to control appliances and lighting through voice commands using your Android phone or via the app.

Google Nest Mini or Amazon’s Echo Dot devices can allow for further controls to be used within different areas of your home, as well as offering up additional functionality such as listening to the latest podcasts, music or finding out what the weather will be like over the weekend.

If you have the budget for other smart devices, there are also smart doorbells, indoor and outdoor cameras, strip lighting and a range of smart power options.

LASER’s Managing Director, Chris Lau said that the company is proud to offer the affordability of a smart home to all Australians.

“In under a year, CONNECT has become a key driver of the smart home categories through our partnership with Harvey Norman, and today’s price reductions will only continue our drive to make this technology as accessible to as many people as possible,” Lau said.

The CONNECT SmartHome range and Google and other smart voice assistants are available in Harvey Norman, Joyce Mayne and Domayne stores as well as online.
